Apache Scouts

The U.S. Calvary set posts in Ft.Verde in present-day Camp Verde. There was a strong recruiting effort on the part of the Calvary to sign up Yavapai and Apache men to serve as scouts for the Calvary. This process began in 1864 and the  scouts were used to detect renegade Apaches and Yavapai who tested the perimeters of Ft.Verde. In the late 1884, the scouts were used to lead the U.S. Calvary to the mountains north of present-day Payson.

  • EXCELLENT PAGE WITH MUCH VALUABLE INFORMATION FOR MY FRIENDS OF CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO AND DESCENDANTS OF APACHE. I AM VERY INTERESTED TO READ YOUR APACHE STORIES, AND REPLICATE THEM ON MY FECEBOOK PAGE chihuahuasalvaje, AS I SPEAK OF THE AMERICAS, BUT FOR THE DESCENDENCE OF APACHE IS WHERE I CONCENTRATE AND ALSO HERE IN THE STATE OF CHIHUAHUA THERE ARE MANY DESCENDANTS THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED TO KNOW AND KNOW MORE OF HIS HISTORY. GREETINGS AND THANKS FOR PUBLISHING AND SHARING. Ahoo!
