Camp cooks for ceremonies are special people

Camp cooks are in demand…not everyone can cook. These Apache cooks know their business in feeding people and making food is a specialty for them. You have to book them weeks in advance.

There’s nothing like an Apache campfire for cooking. The mesquite wood is a hard wood and it can burn plenty of BTUs to cook food fast and hot. Most cooks only use the hot red coals without the flame for cooking.
