The government of the Yavapai-Apache Nation is very similar that of the United States. It is broken down into 3 branches known as the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch and Judicial Branch.
The Executive branch is comprised of the Chairman and Vice Chairman. Each position is elected by the tribal memo responsible for having direct oversight of the Nation’s departments, programs and staff.
The government of the Yavapai-Apache Nation works directly for the betterment of the tribal members and the community.

Legislative Branch-Tribal Council
The Legislative branch is comprised of the Tribal Council. The Tribal Council is elected by the tribal membership and consists of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and seven Tribal Council members. Council members serve staggered terms.
The Legislative branch is responsible for developing laws, codes and ordinances and representing the Nation while directly working for the betterment of the tribal people and the community
