April and May was a busy time and congratulations to the 8th Grade Students on their promotion and the High School Graduates and may you have continued success in your education.

I had a wonderful time reading to the children at the Montessori School and our Day Care Center. It was nice to spend time with the children and encouraging them to read. Reading is very important and contributes to our success.

I participated in our Child Abuse Awareness Event as a support to our families. I also participated in our Memorial Day Ceremony to pay my respect to our Veterans who had big hearts to protect our homelands.

In May, I attended Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation’s Annual Sovereignty Days. Gaming is an important factor to our tribes. It provides jobs, assistance and services to our communities.

There were two Sunrise Ceremonies, many blessings to Oberia Gyce and Lila Couyancy in their continued journey as strong young ladies in our community.
