All the goblins and ghosts gathered at the Nation’s softball field in Middle Verde on the night of October 18 where the Nation’s members had an opportunity to dress in disguise and participate in a ‘Trunk or Treat’ contest.

This contest involves people decorating their trunks of their vehicles and displaying some type of a scary scene.

This event, sponsored by the Recreation Department under Mina Eppinger Manager, was met with great success. With plenty of prizes for the Cake Walk, participants had some great choices for the cakes they could take home.

New council member Ricardo Pacheco dressed up for the occasion as he and others set up the evening meal with a full ensemble of frybread, beans and all of the trimmings.

The Day Care Center of the Nation also set up a basketball game with fantastic prizes. Manager of the center, Ophelia Tewawina and Lead Child Care specialist Bernadine Valenzuela kept the players glued to the backboard as they offered prizes to the winners.

Locals also had a chance to set up their ‘Trunk for Treat’ displays for judging.

The offerings were wide and even the bounce house did well attracting the children as adults stood near by for supervision.

The Recreation Department organized the entire event with active participation from the various departments of the Nation.
